yeet Version 2.0

vectorsoft has now reached another milestone. The groundbreaking innovative development of our low-code development platform: For the first time, it is now possible to use yeet both with and without the conzept 16 database. In standalone mode, yeet has its own user system and an editable data model for creating the data structure. In addition to this innovation, there are also numerous enhancements in the frontend area, which are presented in this article. These highlights are new in yeet:

Highlights

The current release includes the following special features:

UI Designer

The user interface of the designer has been revised and simplified in many areas. For example, the navigation (on the left) has been streamlined and takes up less space. The navigation hierarchy in the individual application areas of the frontend is now even clearer and makes it easier to switch to one of the other areas.

The width of the component list and the property bar can now be adjusted using the mouse and the position of the property toolbar can be fixed.

UI Logic Editor

Another highlight is the completely revised UI code editor. This is now centrally anchored in the project and can be accessed via the bracket symbol in the navigation. The global functions and event functions contained in the project are arranged in a tree structure. The editor itself simplifies the development process through syntax highlighting, function selection and code completion.

Components

The designer offers a range of components for visual application creation. In yeet 2.0 there are also some innovations here:

  • Date and time pickers have been added to the table component. These make it easier to select and enter the date and time
  • The order of the table columns can now be adjusted
  • The input component has a validation option
  • New QR code component
  • Scroll bars can be shown and hidden

Standalone operation

yeet 2.0 can be operated in two ways – with and without the conzept 16 database. The latter was the only option in the previous version 1.2. For use cases where no conzept 16 data is required, yeet now also offers “standalone” operation. yeet then works exclusively on the yeet database, which is already used in yeet 1.2 for synchronization with conzept 16 and the high-performance provision of data on the web. In standalone mode, yeet provides its own user system and an editable data model for managing the data structure.

User administration

In standalone mode, yeet provides its own role-based user system. The frontend contains the new user administration for creating and managing users. There is a separate application area for administrators, which can be accessed via a separate route.

Data model

In standalone mode, the data model (data structure) is defined in the yeet database. The entity editor is available in the frontend for this purpose. The data model consists of entities and properties. An entity corresponds to a table and consists of properties. Each property corresponds to a data column.
