Farewell Windows XP & Vista

The operation of conzept 16 on Windows XP systems is now in sharp decline. Although the current version 5.8 still runs on this operating system with minor restrictions, the future conzept 16 version 5.9 will no longer support XP.

On the one hand, the execution of new conzept 16 features and program functions is often no longer possible under XP, and on the other hand, most of the current versions of the libraries used no longer run under XP.

In the meantime, Windows Vista is no longer supported by all manufacturers. Incidentally, official support for Windows XP was discontinued in April of 2014 and support for Windows Vista in April of 2017. Even Microsoft’s support for Windows 7 ended in January 2020.

The release of conzept 16 version 5.9 is planned for the third quarter of 2020. This version will require at least Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 as the operating system. The future version 5.9 will run on the following 32- and 64-bit systems:

  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8 and 8.1
  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2
  • Windows Server 2016 and 2019

The following 32- and 64-bit systems will then no longer be supported:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows Server 2003 and 2003 R2
  • Windows Server 2008

Of course, all releases of conzept 16 version 5.8 will continue to run on these systems.Farewell Windows XP & Vista
