Development environment with a new design

With the upcoming version 5.8.09, developers will not only receive a new powerful editor, but the appearance of the conzept 16 development environment will also have a new look based on the current Windows design language.

From this version onwards, the user has the choice of setting the Designer in a blue or dark theme. In addition, the previous icons have been replaced by new ones. These are presented in a flat design and are available in a single-color or colorful version. This also gives you the option of choosing the desired display to suit your taste. The following illustrations of the “Database info” tool window show the display options:

The standard design was used for the above tool window. The development environment is displayed in a blue theme with colored icons.

The image above shows the tool window after changing the theme to the dark display.

In the above case, the blue design with monochrome icons was chosen.

The following illustration shows the complete development environment in the standard blue design with colored icons.

In addition to the visual adjustments, we have made another change that improves usability and will certainly please our developers. The designer tools, such as data set and BLOb management, are no longer executed modally. They now appear as independent windows and no longer block the conzept 16 Designer. Alternatively, the designer tools can also be started as an independent application. To do this, the conzept 16 Advanced client is started with the argument “/c16designtool”, specifying the desired administration.
